PRICE: £12
A wonderful piece of 20th-century British brewing heritage: a heavy, deep amber glass beer bottle from the historic London brewers Whitbread & Co. Ltd. This complete specimen features its highly collectable original mechanical closure system. The cylindrical amber glass body, designed to protect the beverage from light degradation, is deeply embossed on the front with the company’s prominent oval emblem: "WHITBREAD & CO LTD / TRADE MARK / LONDON". At the center of the oval is the sharp, embossed profile of a hind's head (tête de cerf) looking to the left, the ancestral family crest and corporate trademark. The bottle is engineered with an internal screw thread neck (pas de vis intérieur). It retains its original black molded ebonite screw stopper, featuring an artisanal threaded shank and a stamped top reading: "WHITBREAD & CO LD. LONDON" around the matching central hind's head logo. Condition: Presented in excellent vintage condition. The deep amber glass is structurally sound with no cracks, deep chips, or bruising. The interior remains remarkably clean. The original black ebonite stopper is in superb shape, with clean, fully functional threads that screw smoothly into the internal neck of the bottle. Dimensions:
