A classic Late Victorian to Edwardian square-based green glass utilitarian bottle, standing at 11.5cm tall with a distinct 3.5cm profile. This distinctive piece showcases exceptional late 19th-century industrial design, featuring one smooth front panel engineered to accommodate a paper retail label, juxtaposed with three deeply recessed and bevelled panels designed for secure handling in workshops.
One of these recessed sides is crisply embossed with the historical maker's mark: "RUDMAN BRISTOL", denoting James Rudman, a prominent late Victorian oil, paint, and varnish manufacturer famed across the West Country for their innovative 'Stainoleum' wood stains and pigments. The base is neatly marked with a single factory mould letter "P".
Condition:
Offered without a stopper, this wide-mouthed specimen is in excellent antique condition with no chips, cracks, or structural flaws.
