|
PRICE: £20
A highly desirable and complete turn-of-the-century antique light green glass mineral water bottle from the regional manufacturer Randall & Co., based in Ryde on the Isle of Wight (I.W.). This exceptional regional piece features its original, specialized evolutionary closure system. The slender cylindrical green glass body is beautifully and deeply embossed on the front with its official corporate identity: "REGISTERED" followed by a framed rectangular cartouche containing the initials "R_ R_" and the script "Randall & Co", underscored by "TRADE MARK / RANDALL & COY / RYDE I W / A5". The base (cul) bears the crisp circular signature of the prestigious London machinery and glassware suppliers: "THE RILEY M'F'G CO / LONDON". The bottle retains its authentic, original black molded ebonite internal screw stopper. Distinctively designed with a tapered, double-sided finger grip for extra leverage against carbonated pressure, the stopper is stamped "RYDE / PATENT" on one side and "RANDALL & CO / RILEYS" on the reverse. Condition: Presented in excellent antique condition. The light green glass exhibits wonderful period clarity with no chips, cracks, or deep structural bruising. The delicate internal screw threads in the neck are completely intact. The original ebonite finger-grip stopper is in outstanding shape, with sharp threads that screw smoothly into the bottle.
