SMALL VINTAGE HEXAGONAL GREEN GLASS POISON BOTTLE
(c. 1920s-1940s)
|
PRICE: £8
A charming smaller specimen of a classic British green glass apothecary bottle, standing at 13cm tall. Moulded into the traditional hexagonal safety shape, it features three smooth panels alternating with three vertically ribbed panels—a deliberate historical design engineered to alert the user to its hazardous external contents by touch alone. The base is embossed with a simple single-digit factory mould number "4", highly characteristic of interwar utility glassware manufacturing. Uniquely, this bottle features no embossed lettering across the shoulders, presenting a remarkably clean and minimalist historical silhouette. Condition: Offered without a stopper or paper label, the translucent green glass is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or structural flaws. A perfect, authentic piece to add height variation, colour contrast, and structural depth to a graduated bottle arrangement in a curiosity cabinet or Scientifica display. Dimensions:
