PRICE: £16
A standard mid-to-late 20th-century gynaecological instrument, identifying as a Pozzi-Palmer uterine tenaculum forceps. Precision-machined from surgical-grade stainless steel, this highly specific tool is designed for secure tissue prehension and stabilization during clinical examinations. The architecture mimics a long, slender pair of scissors, featuring elongated shafts terminating in dual finger-loops. Above the loops, an integrated multi-position interlocking ratchet mechanism (crémaillère) allows the operator to lock the forceps closed under controlled, continuous tension. The working business-end is equipped with sharp, single-pronged curved tips featuring miniature interlocking teeth that mesh together with absolute alignment. The central pivot geometry is secured via a traditional, flush-fitted rivet. Condition: Offered in excellent vintage condition. The stainless steel body is completely clean, exhibiting a high-polish finish free from oxidation, pitting, or historic staining. The mechanical interlocking ratchet operates smoothly, and the terminal teeth remain perfectly straight, sharp, and flawlessly aligned. Dimensions:
