VINTAGE SHEFFIELD CULINARY BOTTLE
ALMOND FLAVOURING BY CARTER & SONS (c. 1920s–1940s)
|
PRICE: £15
A delightful mid-century British domestic artifact, originating from the industrial heartland of Yorkshire. Similar in scale to classic dispensary flasks, this cylindrical glass bottle is distinguished by its enchanting, pale aqua-blue tint and a narrower neck. The glass body showcases wonderful character, featuring several prominent, trapped air bubbles that beautifully catch and refract ambient light. The front face retains its original, dark blue-printed paper label enclosed in a matching border. Despite historical wear, the branding remains clearly legible, reading: "ALMOND FLAVOURING", followed by the partial imperial volume markings and the manufacturer's corporate imprint: "CARTER & SONS / (SHEFFIELD) LTD / Attercliffe Road / Sheffield". Condition: Offered without a closure, the aqua-tinted glass structure is in excellent condition with no structural chips, cracks, or internal clouding. The original paper label shows a fantastic, authentic time-stained patina and displays historic paper loss to the upper and lower right corners—partially obscuring the volume letters and the street name—which enhances its genuine vintage character and social history appeal. A lovely, highly tactile piece to add color variation and historical texture to any layered kitchenalia or country house apothecary display. Dimensions:
