ANTIQUE DINNEFORD'S MAGNESIA PHARMACEUTICAL BOTTLE
(c. 1890s–1910s)
|
PRICE: £18
A genuine late-Victorian to Edwardian British apothecary bottle, standing at 17.5cm tall. Molded from clear, heavy glass with a distinct oval footprint measuring 3.2cm by 6.2cm, this specimen features prominent vertical ridge lines flanking the sides, which run seamlessly from the base to the collar—a signature design element of the famous Dinneford brand. The front face is deeply and crisply embossed with the historical branding: "DINNEFORD'S MAGNESIA". This remarkable archival piece retains its original, deeply aged cork closure, which sits flush and cut clean at the rim of the collar. Over the decades, a portion of this blackened cork has naturally detached and fallen into the chamber. The interior of the bottle houses authentic, dried historical residues of the original fluid magnesia compound, offering an evocative, unaltered glimpse into turn-of-the-century pharmacology. Condition: The antique glass body is stable and structurally sound. It exhibits an authentic, historic flake/chip at the base which does not compromise its upright display or overall integrity. The interior is unwashed, preserving its genuine patina and chemical traces. This specimen is highly recommended for collectors who favor untouched, found-in-situ aesthetics and deeply atmospheric cabinet of curiosities arrangements. Dimensions:
Please note: This historical artifact is sold strictly as a decorative and collectable object for display. It contains genuine century-old chemical compounds and is not intended for any modern medical, cosmetic, or practical use. Shipping Information:
