A charming, locally branded early 20th-century British pharmaceutical bottle, offering excellent West Country provenance. Standing at 8.9cm tall with a slender 2.5cm cylindrical diameter, this clear glass specimen was prepared by independent chemist W.H. Hawker, Pharmacist, located at 129 Gloucester Road, Bristol. The bottle retains its original, rounded paper label, which has taken on a beautiful, authentic time-stained patina over the past century. The black typography remains perfectly legible and displays fascinating period medical directions: "EUCALYPTUS OIL / Dose - One to four drops on a lump of sugar." This specific mode of administration offers a delightful, nostalgic glimpse into the domestic remedy habits of the Edwardian and post-Edwardian eras. The base of the chamber houses authentic, dark amber-coloured dried residues of the original essential oil formulation. Condition: The glass structure is in immaculate condition with no chips, cracks, or clouding.
