HYDROGEN PEROXIDE (c. 1930s–1950s)

PRICE: £38
A remarkably clean and visually striking Interwar to Mid-Century era British transparent glass apothecary shelf bottle, standing at 16.5cm tall with a robust 7.5cm cylindrical diameter. This clinical specimen beautifully captures the mid-20th-century shift towards institutional and laboratory minimalism. The body displays prominent, authentic vertical mould seams running down opposing sides from the base to the neck ridge, showcasing early automated two-part piece moulding techniques. The base is crisply embossed with the factory mould location code "16", separated by a horizontal line from the modern metric capacity notation: "500" (500ml). The jar is complete with its original, perfectly matching transparent glass ground stopper. This heavy closure features a flat, circular top head and an elongated, precision-ground 2.5cm plug designed to sit deeply inside the neck—an engineering safeguard deployed by pharmacies to securely contain volatile solutions. Proudly showcased on the front panel is a premium, beautifully preserved rectangular 'Label Under Glass' (LUG) cartouche. Moving away from the ornate Victorian gilt styles, this clinical shield features a stark white backing framed by a minimalist black border, presenting the bold, sharp typography: "HYDROGEN PEROXIDE". Condition: The vintage clear glass body and its matching circular stopper are in overall excellent, structurally flawless condition with no chips, cracks, or surface clouding. The protective curved glass label remains perfectly intact and securely adhered, offering an immaculate monochrome aesthetic. A highly graphic showpiece that brings a brilliant, clinical Scientifica atmosphere to an advanced curiosity cabinet or a layered glass gallery display. Dimensions:
