PRICE: £65
A spectacular and highly narrative Late Victorian to Edwardian clear glass apothecary shelf jar, standing at 13cm tall. Uniquely designed with a wider neck to accommodate solid preparations, this shop jar features a premium, authentic 'Label Under Glass' (LUG) cartouche. The shield displays the hand-painted antique serif lettering: "P: CRET: AR:" for Pulvis Cretae Aromaticus (Aromatic Powder of Chalk)—a classic historic British remedy blending prepared chalk with aromatic spices such as cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg. Of ultimate rarity for medical antiquity collectors, this specimen remains roughly half-full of its genuine, century-old original cream-coloured aromatic powder compound. The matching wide-mouthed ground-glass stopper is completely and permanently sealed by time, ensuring that the historic contents are fully contained and perfectly preserved. Condition: Offered with deep, authentic period character. The protective curved glass label shows beautiful, light age-related distressing, and the clear glass neck rim features a historic chip/flake. However, because the unit is entirely airtight and stable, this flaw does not compromise its display utility, structural integrity, or safety. A museum-grade centrepiece offering incredible atmosphere for an advanced cabinet of curiosities or Scientifica vault. Dimensions:
Please note: This historical artifact is sold strictly as a decorative and collectable object for display. It contains genuine century-old chemical compounds and is not intended for any modern medical, cosmetic, or practical use. Shipping Information:
