(small size) R. PATERSON & SONS, GLASGOW (c. 1890–1910)
|
PRICE: £12
A wonderful and scarcer smaller-sized variant of the iconic late Victorian to Edwardian antique molded glass bottle for "Camp Coffee", manufactured by R. Paterson & Sons of Glasgow. This scaled-down version is crafted from the same heavy-gauge glass with an authentic pale aqua/blue-green hue and features original internal atmospheric air bubbles. Built with a stable square cross-section base measuring approximately 4.2 x 4.2cm, the bottle features the identical crisp triple-face embossing found on its larger counterpart: Face 1: "PATERSON'S", Face 2: "GLASGOW", and Face 3: "ESS / CAMP COFFEE & CHICORY" with the shared stylized capital 'C'. The fourth side is smooth to allow for its historic paper label. The neck terminates in a classic, thick rimmed collar designed for a traditional cork closure. Condition: Presented in excellent antique condition. Unlike the previous specimen, the rim of this goulot is completely intact, clean, and free from chips or flakes. The glass shows no signs of sickness or cloudiness, and the embossed lettering is beautifully raised and tactile. Dimensions:
