|
PRICE: £18
A classic Late Victorian to Early Edwardian transparent glass poison bottle, standing at 13.2cm tall with a 3.2cm diameter. This cylindrical specimen showcases early industrial safety glass design, featuring the bold horizontal warning "NOT TO BE TAKEN" embossed across the shoulder, paired with "POISONOUS" running vertically down the body to prevent accidental ingestion in low light. The base is crisply marked with the initials "W B", the signature stamp of the renowned Wood Brothers Glass Company of Barnsley, Yorkshire. The neck rim features a characterful, slightly rough sheared lip, an authentic testament to late 19th-century hand-finished manufacturing methods before fully automated machinery took over. Condition: Offered without a stopper, the clear glass displays excellent structural integrity with no cracks, chips, or heavy cloudiness. It holds beautiful, authentic tiny air bubbles trapped within the glass matrix. A highly tactile and genuine piece of British industrial pharmacy history, perfect for adding texture and narrative depth to a curiosity display. Dimensions:
