If thought is creative, logos is even more as it embodies thought in matter. And if each sound is vibration, it is logical to understand that each word pronounced also has its own vibration. This vibration is the result of thousands of years of evolution, from the very first stammerings to the words we know and use today. Words have thus acquired a meaning - or definition - that results from the association of ideas. If I tell you that the grass is green, you will admit that it is true because everyone has adopted this "evidence" as the only reference, in all cultures and in all languages. It is the same for all subjects and objects, a unique reference has been created and adopted to name them: the sky is blue, the sea is composed by water, the fire burns, etc.
In the same way, it is accepted by everyone that to be a baker, one must make bread and to be a surgeon, one must operate on bodies. It is indeed easy - through these two examples - to make the link between the person and his profession/function since a tangible result is verifiable because it can be quantified in the matter. Where it gets more complicated is when we try to determine a profession/function that touches the unmanifested, the invisible. I am talking here about shamans, healers, magnetizers, mediums and other bonesetters, in short, about all these professions/functions which are not validated by a state diploma and whose visible results depend essentially - but not only - on the subjectivity of the person benefiting from the support. Because if an improvement of the state of the "client" or even a healing is physically observable in most cases, it is important to remember that the change is not only due to the shaman or the healer, but well and truly to the inner healer that I like to call the body intelligence. In the fields of personal growth and "spirituality", I read more and more texts where the words shaman and inner healer are synonymous and therefore interchangeable. Illusion when you hold us... The inner healer is not exceptional in itself. Every living being, in whatever form, has its own inner healer: animal, vegetable, mineral. And to enable this inner healer to do its job, no living species - apart from the human species - does anything. Absolutely nothing! Observe a wounded wild animal or a sick tree. It welcomes the injury or disease without question and lets the process of life or death take place. Naturally. Without interfering. Only the human thinks he has to fight what he considers "wrong". Injury is "wrong". Illness is "wrong". Death is "wrong". The dark side is "wrong". The occult - in its meaning "that which is hidden" - is "wrong". And so on. So the human, in his need to control everything and to purify himself, will interfere in the natural process, ignoring that he is going AGAINST Life rather than accompanying it. A schizophrenic paradox specific to our species, we eat impoverished, adulterated food that is toxic for our organism and then we take chemical drugs that only treat the effects and not the cause. In the same way, we adopt an incoherent belief system as true and we become dazed by a flood of toxic images and information and then we try to lighten our brains by learning transcendental meditation or by trying to become a shaman because we have read somewhere that the shaman = the inner healer. But... If the inner healer is common to all living species, it is not the case of the shaman. Being a shaman is unique to the human species. Being a shaman is a function. Being a mother or father is also a function. Being a baker or a surgeon or a mathematician or a top athlete is a function. Because we are all human, we have in common and possess within us the aptitudes to become a mother or a father, a baker, a surgeon, a mathematician, a top athlete... and a shaman! But we don't all develop that ability. I can bake bread, but I am not a baker. I have some knowledge of anatomy, but I am not a surgeon. I can do math in my head, but I am not a mathematician. I can run 100 meters, but I am not a top athlete. The illusory omnipotence of your intention will not make you an architect on the wave of a magic wand or because you have an interest in architecture. Nor will you become a shaman after taking a course in which you learn that your totem animal is an eight-legged ant wearing yellow boots or a golden eagle who has become a vegan because he is an animal activist. I was born a shaman and it took me many years to explore, understand, work and use this skill. And in the years I have left to live, this skill will never stop developing because nothing is fixed and everything is bound to evolve. Again and again. So I have a piece of advice for you and do with it as it fits you: if you really want to be at peace and find happiness, if you really want your inner healer to be fully active, then stop interfering by trying to become what you are not meant to be and before you pretend to heal others, then start by healing yourself. Because no shaman can ever do that for you. Because that is the job of your inner healer.

No, I don't take a swipe at New Age followers, but I do deplore the aberrations conveyed by this cult/religion as well as the psychological damage suffered by a large number of people in search of a better quality of life.
Because what New Age followers do not realize is that they do not embark on a spiritual path because they feel intimately drawn to the search for meaning. Rather, they approach spirituality as a refuge in which they imagine that all their ills and ill-being could be magically cured. But because the basic job has not been done - job that allows for real learning and self-knowledge - the awareness that leads to awakening is truncated and a new illusion is thus nourished, an illusion whose roots are identical to the original illusion that these people reject. These disciples then fall prey to so-called well-meaning manipulators who make them mistake bladders for lanterns. There is thus a repetition, purely and simply, of the ideology proper to monotheistic religions and in our Western countries, the money of the faithful no longer fills the coffers of the Christian Church, but rather the pockets of self-proclaimed gurus who are masters only in the art and manner of plucking and abusing the credulity of suffering people. Words and traditions are more and more appropriated and diverted and everything is now a pretext for the most extreme delusions. An example among many others: today, we no longer call ourselves therapists, we systematically call ourselves shamans without even having had an intimate experience of what shamanism is and of its practice. Today, one calls oneself a Celtic shaman rather than a Druid, a Lakota shaman rather than a medicine man, a Shuar shaman rather than an Uwishin, etc. One invents hypothetical origins for oneself. We invent hypothetical Mongolian or Siberian origins because we have vaguely heard that the word "shaman" originated in the Tungus language and that the Tungus never lived in the tropics or even in Western Europe. So... No! You are not a shaman because you advocate love always. No! You are not a shaman because you play the drum. No! You are not a shaman because you do sage fumigations. No! You are not a shaman because you talk to trees and animals. No! You are not a shaman because you smoke the firecracker and you are cool. Obviously, to point out the abuses of the abusers, to denounce the lies of the liars, to show the illusions of the illusionists, it is to register them in false and to make vacillate the fragile balance to which they cling, desperate as they are not to be known or recognized in a role and a responsibility of which they are unaware. To be a shaman is not to surf on the New Age wave which has been raging since the end of the 60's and which has not stopped swelling since. If you are ever led to tread the path of shamanism - for real! - know that you must first learn to heal yourself before claiming to be an actor in the healing of others. Remember that you do not have the power to heal others and that it is up to each person to heal himself or herself. The way of shamanism is a way of inner strength, a way that is rather Fire and Earth oriented, Fire to transmute, Earth to experience the incarnation and to breathe in the change necessary for evolution. The path of shamanism is a path that breaks the emotional mental barrier so dear to Westerners, this emotional mental barrier governed essentially by the elements Air and Water. Whatever the spiritual path that attracts you, follow it in all awareness and to follow it in all awareness implies not to call shamanism what is not! Perhaps you are attracted by animism, neo-shamanism, neo-paganism or Wicca or whatever. Remember that there are many spiritual practices, that none of them is better or superior to another and remember that not all of them are systematically related to shamanism as such. Each of us has a richness of his own and each of us has a role to play in the experience of his incarnation. But if we really want to change the world, it is essential that each of us starts by stopping lying to ourselves and consequently lying to others. We are here to live an embodied experience and it is therefore essential to confront our illusions with the structure of matter. This is the sine qua non condition to really unify ourselves internally rather than maintaining the separation within ourselves and with our environment. If emotions are an integral part of the experience of incarnation and it is therefore futile to try to ignore them, if emotions colour life and make us vibrate, there are other energies, more subtle, that make us vibrate even more.
Emotions are animated by intense energies which no conscious mind, however powerful it is, is capable of containing. In the short, medium or long term and depending on the experience of each, any emotional repression will inevitably cause you to lose the North and you will unconsciously directed the energy either internally and resulting in the manifestation of an illness (mental or physical) or outwardly and that could harm your relationship to the world. It is therefore healthy to express one’s emotions in order to prevent them from accumulating and thickening the mental-emotional barrier, because it is the thickening of this barrier which is at the origin of the fanciful interpretations that most of us have of Reality. An emotion cannot be controlled. An emotion cannot be mastered. An emotion is guided. This is the first and indispensable step if you want to grow the power and efficiency of your rituals. If you are walking in consciousness on a spiritual path and that path makes you interested in esoteric practices, perhaps you will have surfed on the NET and you found a thousand and one tips on the best shamanic or witch technique you will have to acquire to become a master. I have read and read again that this so-called best technique is to load your ritual with all the emotion that you hold within you. Know then that this technique only serves to free you from your emotional overflow. This is in itself a good thing, but this is not enough to grow the power and efficiency of your rituals. It is also for this reason that you need to regularly repeat your ritual. Repetition is a way of reprogramming yourself and reprogramming is a fundamental mistake that makes you believe that you need to become someone that you are not. Therefore, any repetition of the ritual will cause you to stagnate in the first step for a duration of which no one can predict the length and this stagnation will generate in you ever more emotions that, rather than elevating you, will keep you in the belief that you are incapable of creating your reality and accessing the Happiness to which you are rightfully entitled. Then one day, you feel that the time has come to progress. Progress is in the course of things, it is part of evolution and if you agree to follow the natural movement of life which is to make you grow, if you throw overboard all the old beliefs that you believed in and that are still unconsciously conveyed by the mass, you then grow towards consciousness (in the meaning feeling and not the intellectual sense of the term) that you have the creative power that you have most likely heard about, but never really experienced. Here you are approaching the second step of the process which is to contact the energy beyond the emotion and therefore beyond the conscious mind, in a place where duality no longer divides, but is complemented with a single goal: to serve the power and efficiency of the ritual. Contact this energy beyond emotion has nothing to do with what is commonly called meditation, the purpose of which is to annihilate the ego. Thus even if it is not the one who directs, your ego has a role to play in esoteric practice and in any other spiritual process. Contact this energy beyond emotion is to cross the mental-emotional barrier while using the energy it generates to focus on the intention of your ritual. Here, quantity is not synonymous with quality and therefore, the thinner the mental-emotional barrier is, the more powerful and sharp it is like the tip of an arrow would be. In this case, you understand that it is totally useless to repeat your ritual, a single sharp arrow is enough to reach the center of the target. Modern Western culture is different from traditional Eastern culture and this is probably the reason for many misunderstandings when we talk about the question of possession in shamanic practices of Siberia and Asia.
When I speak to Westerners and try to explain to them the context of the shamanic trance in which the shaman is possessed by Spirits, I systematically use the word incorporation rather than possession. Incorporating is immediately less frightening for them because in their subconscious, this word is associated with an act in which they retain control while being possessed is associated with an act undergone. A Westerner cannot imagine being possessed and keeping control at the same time, because as we observe every day, the Westerner needs to believe that he is the only one who has control over his life. The word possession is therefore understood in the Judeo-Christian sense of the term and is irretrievably associated with the fact that a possessed person is a victim who needs to be exorcised by a priest. We cannot act directly on this belief deeply rooted in the collective unconscious. Everything is always a matter of definition and definitions are directly built by each culture, over time and experience. Moreover, not everyone has the capacity to approach a foreign culture by ignoring its original culture. Being open to other concepts, to other visions of reality, is a matter of neuronal connections and no one is to blame as no one has chosen, in consciousness, how he would use his brain during his incarnation experience. Communicating by being and remaining open to the other party seems to be the most constructive solution, but again, we are not all equal... Much more powerful than an energetic cleaning, disengagement – or release – is a basic ritual whose purpose is to expel an energy – or entity – that has taken possession of its victim (human, animal, herd, place). Common practice in shamanism, disengagement is often understood as a synonym of exorcism. If these two procedures are very close, let us remember, however, that exorcism systematically calls for a religious egregore and let us also remember that shamanism is not a religion.
Most of the disengagements are carried out by lead, a practice well known in the East since antiquity. This metal combines two distant forces: the internal fire energizing and the rigid heaviness. Often used to make amulets or elaborate esoteric rituals, covering the costume of the Siberian shaman, lead makes it possible to facilitate contact with the different levels of the subconscient also called "lower world". But in extreme cases, a fire release may be essential. This type of clearance is not without danger and only an experienced practitioner is able to drive it, because this practice can be detrimental as much for the officiant as for his client and the entourage of the latter. The well-structured action of such a ritual – specific incantations, objects used, etc. – and the experience of the shaman are the only guarantors to really deliver the victim of his troubles and evils and to allow him to find or regain the physical and mental balance at the base of a harmonious life. When performed alone, the release has only a curative effect. To avoid any subsequent attack and nuisance, a second ritual – this time of protection – must follow the first one. So be sure to speak to the right person if you think you need to disengage and understand that such a ritual is done exclusively in person and not online. At all times and in all places, humans have constantly surrounded themselves with objects to which they have lent and still lend magical powers. The list is numerous: gri-gri, talisman, amulet, stone, crystal, wand, pentacle, anthropomorphic or zoomorphic statuettes ... There are as many objects with sacred powers as there are civilizations.
When it is made by a shaman, a sorcerer or a magician, the object is then sacred, that is to say charged and invested with a precise intention, a particular energy, favorable for its owner. Starting from the postulate that everything is energy, the power emitted by an object exceeds the simple placebo effect for the following reasons: - any object, organism, substance, by its atomic nature, constantly emits quantifiable (measurable) frequencies (frequency signatures), among others in the electromagnetic spectrum; - a magnetic field, a bombardment of particles, any energy modification (such as heat) modifies all these objects and their spectral signatures. This is also quantifiable. Therefore, the energetic charge carried out by a shaman, sorcerer or magician makes a modification to the object and this modification is, again, measurable. Besides the energetic influence of an object, the belief of the one who wears and uses it will consolidate and / or modify his neurological paths, thus influencing the functions of his organism, his attitudes, his behavior and consequently his environment. Text by Aonghas von Rycker, astrophysicist Photo : two-headed voodoo dool crafted by Marushka Tziroulnikoff In some shamanic traditions – as in South America, for example – it is customary to receive the teaching of master plants. This approach has a sacred meaning and is therefore not taken lightly. To be prepared for it, the apprentice must undertake a diet. The diet is also a common practice of the shamanic path and therefore does not apply only to the encounter with plants.
Diet itself is a serious practice and you will be well advised to consult your doctor before starting one. Similarly, if you are dying for the very first time, I strongly recommend that you have on your side someone who has already experienced the process. The purpose of the diet is to cleanse your whole body in order to rid it of accumulated toxins, it will then act on the physical as well as on the emotional and the mental. Most practitioners of the shamanic diet spread out the suppression of so-called «exciting» foods over a week. Personally, the very first time I dieted, I gave myself a month, and I confess that it was easy. I took out the food gently, one after the other, and I didn’t have any unpleasant symptoms related to body detoxification. During this period, to support me and give me every chance to succeed, I practiced yoga several times a day, two solitary walks in the nature (1h30 per walk) and shamanic journeys. My diet was followed by a 7-day fast and the food recovery was also spread over a period of one month. So what are these famous "exciting" or acidifying foods that poison us when we consume them on a daily basis and often more than for good reason? Here is the short list:
In addition to food that acidifies the body, a diet is also practiced by completely eliminating smoking and all that is smoked, any sexual activity (masturbation included) and any drug use in any form. If you are on medication, consult your doctor who is and remains the only health professional authorized to advise you. As stated above, the purpose of the diet is to remove from your body everything that stresses it and as any change inevitably leads to stress, it is also recommended to soften this change by practicing light and regular outdoor physical activity such as walking or yoga. The basic mistake would be to believe that because you absorb fewer calories, your body will be weakened. To compensate for the reduction of a dietary energy intake, it is essential that your body remains in motion and "feeds" air and light. Of course, if you can walk in nature rather than in the city or in the metro, you will have understood that it will be highly beneficial for you. On the other hand, since the shamanic diet is essentially spiritual, the practice of altered states of consciousness is therefore welcome: meditation, shamanic journey, visualization, sophrology… Enjoy your practice! The shaman is an element who make the link with the energy world. He provides care, becomes an oracle, assumes the role of exorcist or spiritual guide according to the needs of the person who calls upon him.
The shaman plunges into his depths, where his spirit functions beyond time and space. It is thus possible for him to answer specific questions or to discover the cause of a disease that unbalances the harmony of a being, but also between a being and his environment. If you want to become a shaman, you should know that you will not incarnate the function after having participated in a few weekends of initiations and other workshops about shamanism such as those that are fashionable today in the West. By following this type of sessions and after several years of intense personal investment, you could become a good shamanic practitioner and among these practitioners, it is possible that some shamans reveal themselves. Only some. If you want to become a shaman, it is necessary to know that it is the Spirits who will designate you. In Siberia, it is said that one does not become a shaman, but that one is born as such. It is then necessary to form and learn with humility under the guidance of the Spirits and the accompaniment of one or more incarnate guides. To become a channel between this world and the afterlife, to work as a team with the Spirits without being controlled by them takes time. The training is long, it is counted in years, and it is painful, shamanism is not a path of love and light, it is not without danger and often brings you to the gates of madness and death. With all due respect to the whole "love and light" fans, the shaman is neither a Care Bear nor a sparkle unicorn. Above all, the shaman is a human being, composed of forces and faults, thus far removed from the eventual idea that we can make of perfection made man – or made woman – in terms of "holiness". The shaman therefore has, like everyone else, an ego and the latter can be described as strong and voluntary, but is also often wrongly described as proud by those who fear or jealousy the power of affirmation that such a character can show.
Taught and guided by his ancestors Spirits and other Spirits which he incorporates, but also imbued with the culture in which he is born, the shaman dares to be without fear from the gaze of his fellows and without the need of any consent or recognition from them. If the shaman has an ego, he is not attached to it and the individual can then appear in the eyes of his congeners as someone unstable who does not have a fixed personality. In fact, the shaman does not need to determine himself or to determine his actions, which will not prevent him from naming himself or his actions for the sole purpose of communicating with the human person. In the same vein, the shaman does not separate love from fear or light from shadow. He is perfectly aware that duality is composed of complementary and not opposite elements and that each element cannot exist without its annexed polarity. What would the day be without the night? What would the sun be without the rain? What would the Masculine be without the Feminine? The drum is not used in all shamanic traditions. In South America, for example, it is the icaros – songs – that punctuate the rituals and guide souls.
In Siberia, we systematically find the use of the drum, regardless of the tribe we visit. But traditionally, in societies that practice hierarchical shamanism, you don't become a shaman by choice, it is the Spirits who designate the man or woman who will fulfill this function within the community and it is this same community who will craft the drum of the shaman, which will be given to him during the ceremony of officialization of his function. The shaman therefore does not make his drum himself (or even his costume) and these sacred objects are taken back by the community while the shaman is banished from the clan (or tribe) if he does not fulfill his function as an intermediary between the manifested and not-manifested. The drum allows to travel, to practice the "magic flight". It is the mount that the shaman rides to journey the invisible worlds to meet the Spirits. In traditional societies, the drum is always a healing drum, because if the sound has an undeniable effect on the environment, everything that composes the instrument has also its importance (the wood of the frame, the animal that gave its skin, the symbols that are drawn or painted, the bells, the pieces of cloth and especially, the pieces of metal). When trance is induced during a ritual, all present and sufficiently sensitive people observe that the roles are balanced between the shaman and his/her drum: the ego of the shaman fades while the soul of the drum is expressed, the shaman becomes the instrument, the drum becomes the officiant, harmony and collaboration reigns between these two entities that become one. The drumstick guides the human arm towards the skin to emit such a sound rather than another, to touch such a symbol and not the one next to it. Nothing is the result of chance, but nothing is either premeditated. Because he/she receives the teaching of his/her drum, only the shaman is able to decode the messages and a unique link connects them. It is for this reason that when the shaman dies, his/her drum is destroyed. Only the pieces of metal containing the Spirit of the instrument loaded itself, by practical means, by the Spirits of the Ancestors are preserved, and because they are so loaded, these pieces of metal will adorn the drum of the next shaman, which the Spirits will call when they recognize him/her. |
